Four In The Fast Lane

MERLIN

A very handsome Border Collie, Merlin is the primary team’s lead dog.  He also does obedience and takes part in breed shows with his handler Vida.  Merlin is delighted because he has just become a dad for the first time!

CRAZY MASIE

Parson Jack Russell Terrier Crazy Masie lives up to her name!  Running second for the primary team, she has phenomenal energy so handler Barbara says flyball is perfect for her.

TAZ

Handler Eileen and Taz have been with the team since the start.  Taz is probably the most laid back Working Sheepdog in existence, but on the flyball lane he is determined to get back before the other dog and does it by glancing across at the other lane to see exactly where his opponent is!

BRAMBLE

Bramble is a Labrador cross handled by his owner, Ray.  Both Ray and Bramble love to take part in any dog activity, but both put flyball at the top of the list.

Fast Lane 4x4s

SOPHIE

Goldie Sophie is handled by her owner, Sylvia.  Sophie loves flyball and would bark her head off the entire way down the lane given the chance!

TANGO

 [Picture on its way!!]

Tango the Collie cross and her owner Gaye took part in a tournament for the first time in 2007, but they have been coming to flyball since just after it started.  Tango is an ex-Battersea Dogs Home resident who thoroughly enjoys herself at flyball and does agility as well.

BUSTER

Buster the Flat Coat Retriever is handled by his owner Diane.  He too is fairly laid back - until you get him on a flyball lane.  Then he goes potty.

ROSIE

Rosie is a rehomed Border Collie who is owned by Eileen, but often run by junior handler Catelyn, especially if she is running reserve for the primary team.  She is Taz’s pack mate and loves her flyball!

LISA

[Picture on its way!!]

Lisa is a legend, doncherknow.  A twelve year old Border Collie cross, she shows no sign of slowing up in any way, is fast on the flyball lane, and just try telling her she should be slowing down!

Fast Lane Juggernauts

LILY

 [Picture on its way!!]

A young lurcher, Lily is handled by junior handler Ella.  She is a speedy little thing and adores playing flyball.  Especially if Ella’s mum Jo is loading the box!

BUSTER

 [Picture on its way!!]

Buster is a Springer Spaniel who enjoys a good run down the lane.  He decided he would rather bark at the box loader to release the ball as that is more fun, but owner Lorraine is teaching him if you want a job done properly - do it yourself, kid!

RILEY

 [Picture on its way!!]

A handsome rescue Border Collie, owner Kevin runs a motorbike dealership ( must have a word with him about my spark plugs) so we are the perfect team for them!  Riley is fast, enjoys his flyball, and on tea break also enjoys trying to catch everyone’s breath (including his own) on cold days!

JACK

 [Picture on its way!!]

Another rescue Border Collie, Jack is a shy and sensitive little lad who has just started with us.  He is fast, enjoys a good run and is coming on well.  He just needs to get used to a stranger loading the box rather than his dad!

…And Finally

FLY

Border Collie Fly has been a member of the team virtually since the outset.  She had to stop playing as she suffered a serious tendon injury which resulted in surgery, but she still comes along to support her team-mates and her pack mate Lisa.  Fly will always be a part of our team.

PIP

Collie/BSD cross Pip is the little dog who started it all.  She always had difficulty playing flyball but she could never quite figure out why.  Then in 2005 a genetic disorder called Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) was diagnosed and Pip is now completely blind.  Like Fly, she will always be a part of the team even though she never ran.
